Maquoketa Caves Campout May 24-26, 2019

Venturing Crew 2016 Maquoketa Cave State Park Campout is scheduled for May 24-26th, 2019.   This is open to all crew members.   This will also be the 2nd Philmont Shakedown Campout, so we will be having backpacking food.   Please register by May17th so we have time to order our trail food.  Click on "Read More" for details and registration information.

Lake Macbride Philmont Training Campout April 26-27, 2019

Crew 2016 will have it's first Philmont Training campout at Lake Macbride State Park.   This is highly recommended for those crew members who are going on our Philmont Trip.  It is also open to all other crew members as well.  Deadline to register is Tuesday April 23rd to give us time to shop for food.   Click Read More below to register.

Philmont Training Hikes Begin April 20th, 2019.

Easter is this weekend, so there will be no meeting on Sunday night. However, we will plan for a Philmont Training hike on Saturday at 10am at Squire Point trailhead. All are welcome. Those going on Philmont should wear their hiking boots and bring their pack with at least 20lbs in it.

Crew Meeting Sunday March 24, 2019 at 7pm.

There will be a crew meeting Sunday March 24th at 7pm at the FCC..   We will meet at the same time as Troop 2000.  We will use the youth room in the back.   Please bring your calendars as we will need to set up our campouts over the next few months.  

Philmont Scout Ranch Trek July/Aug 2019

Philmont Scout Ranch, the Boy Scouts of America's premier High Adventure™ base, challenges Venturing Crew members with more than 214 square miles of rugged northern New Mexico wilderness. Backpacking treks, horseback cavalcades, and training and service programs offer young people many ways to experience this legendary country.

Crew 2016 has secured a reservation for a 12 day trek at Philmont Scout Ranch for the Summer of 2019!!! 

Crew Meeting Sunday Jan 27th, 2019.

Next crew meeting will be for Philmont Participants on Sunday Jan 27th most likely at the FCC at 7pm. We will go over itinerary selection and gear.

Crew Meeting on December 16th, 2018

There will be a regular crew meeting on December 16th at 6pm at the FCC.   We will have a backpacking stove use overview and work on setting them up and taking them down.   Bring along a cup and spoon for some hot chocolate.
